Tutorial: Oversize sweater -> Cardigan
I liked the pattern of this sweater, but it was way too big. I decided to refashion it into a fashionable oversize cardigan.
I cut the sweater down the front middle and serged the edges (those more timid than me, may sew two zigzag lines instead and cut between them).
I found a fitting black ribbon, that was just long enough. I pinned it to the edges.
…and stitched it on the edges with as long a straight stitch length as my sewing machine is able to do.
Then I folded the ribbon around the edge (I also folded the top and the bottom of the ribbon to the wrong side, so they would be sewed as well), and stitched it from the other side as well.
Og det var det. Klar til brug
That’s it. Ready for use.
It is pretty, very warm, as a cardigan it does not drown my body, and it is also much more versatile as a cardigan. But I am still not quite convinced that oversize flatters my short and curvy figure.
